From Keith Weston , 1937-43. He was one of three pupils, from different schools, shortlisted to give the opening address at a service to be held at Westminster Abbey in 1942 for members of the armed forces. Hall (reading),from the Bec School, was selected. Also with Mr W R John and Keith is Hornby from Wandsworth Secondary School
Mr John was Acting Head Master at the temporarily renamed Emergency School, Clapham, during Mr Evans' absence (wartime evacuation to Chichester, 1939-43)
