Fourteen OTs attended the last annual reunion, held as usual at The Windmill, Clapham, on 7 November 2023.

The date of next year's event, once agreed by the Committee, will be given on this page, and also in the newsletter.  (A reminder that the annual reunions are open to all OTs, whether or not they are Association members. )

For your diaries: the next AGM has been arranged for 2pm  on Saturday 30 March 2024, at Elms Academy, Elms Road.  Ted Hayward will issue the usual notification and papers to all registered (ie, paid-up) members early in the new year.

*January 2024:   in October 2022 Lambeth Council  received an application from developers to demolish both Lambeth College  (which fronts South Side)  and - possibly at a later date - Elms Academy,  in nearby Elms Road, to provide mainly additional housing in a series of tower blocks across both sites.    As OTs may  be aware, both the College and the Academy house  various HTS-related memorabilia on wall-mounted display, including pupil honours boards spanning the years 1918 to 1963;  the memorial to former pupils who lost their lives during the Second World War;  and the school crest. The Association's Management Committee is naturally anxious that, whatever the outcome of the application,  these historic items should continue to be  carefully preserved and remain available for OTs to view on the Clapham site.  One option under consideration by the Committee is to transfer the College-based collection to Elms Academy, subject to prior agreement with the Academy Principal. Further updates on this important issue will be given here when it is possible to do so. *The date for responses  has been extended as the developers have submitted fresh design proposals, which are now (early November) out for consulation. The Council's formal position therefore remains "awaiting decision". (At 19.1.24)

Did you join the school in 1955 or 1958? If so, head down the page and click on the Cohorts site link for more details.

Association tiea limited supply is still available for purchase by all OTs;  the price, including postage, is £15.  Please contact Ted Hayward, using the website contact form, if you're interested.  An image of the tie is displayed in the Miscellaneous gallery - in the  second row from the top  - which is accessed by clicking on Memorabilia.

Do you know of any OTs living outside the UK (whether or not they're likely to want to join the Association)?  If so, use the same  form to pass this information on to Ted Hayward, with their prior consent.

Annual subscriptions 2023-4: a reminder to members that at the last AGM on 30 March it was agreed to reinstate subscriptions, effective from 1.4.23,  at the original 2006 rates of £10 for Full and £6 for Associate membership.  Further details, including the reasons for this decision and alternative methods of payment, were given in the Secretary's email of 1 April 2023.  Contact him if you have any queries. Many thanks to OTs who have already paid (names and years shown on the Current Members pasge).
